This September, for the first time, we did not visit a wind fair, but Europe's biggest PR event. What did we learn at the Communication Congress in Berlin?
-
When it comes to cyberattacks worth millions, you need a partner who hunts nuggets, negotiates with hackers on the darknet and knows good IT forensic experts (“What are the Hack-12 tips for PR professionals after a cyberattack”), with Marcus Ewald, Dunkelblau.
- Get in good with receptionists and chauffeurs, seek personal contact with investigative journalists and don't chase whistle blowers, otherwise they will really come clean (“The fourth estate!? How investigative journalism uncovers scandals – and what that means for PR”) with Kayhan Özgenc (Business Insider), Massimo Bognanni (WDR) and Anette Dowideit (CORRECTIV).
-
MVV Energie and Miele succeeded in presenting themselves as a sustainable company: with "martial technology" such as the rotary kiln of a phosphorus recycling plant and foundry guided tours all the way to melted-down counterweights for washing machines. They achieved a great media response (“Sustainability in industry: How to succeed in presenting complex processes and progress transparently”) with Sebastian Ackermann (MVV Energie) and Dirk Haushalter (Miele)

You can use AI to analyse topics and trends, observe your competitors and learn a lot about your target groups. This is an excellent way to optimise messages and measures (“Is ChatGPT just the beginning? Where AI already plays a role in companies and will become important in the future”) with Richard Tigges (Audi AG) and Dr Iris Heilmann, (palmerhargreaves.de).
We are already looking forward to the next congress, which – fortunately! – will take place two weeks before WindEnergy in Hamburg!
